Two almost-circles, and two real ones

چکیده
Implicit locus equations in GeoGebra allow the user to do experiments with generalization of concept ellipses, namely n-ellipses. By experimenting we obtain a geometric object that is very similar set two circles. We show they are not circles and highlight importance symbolic verification.

Elastic Behavior of Functionally Graded Two Tangled Circles Chamber
This paper presents the numerical elastic solution for a real problem, functionally graded chamber of hydraulic gear pumps under internal pressure. Because of the similarity and complexity for the considering geometry, a bipolar cylindrical coordinate system is used to extract the governing equations. The material properties are considered to vary along the two tangled circles with a power-law ...
متن کاملCamera Calibration with Two Arbitrary Coplanar Circles
In this paper, we describe a novel camera calibration method to estimate the extrinsic parameters and the focal length of a camera by using only one single image of two coplanar circles with arbitrary radius. We consider that a method of simple operation to estimate the extrinsic parameters and the focal length of a camera is very important because in many vision based applications, the positio...
متن کاملCamera Calibration Using Two Concentric Circles
We present a simple calibration method for computing the extrinsic parameters (pose) and intrinsic parameters (focal length and principal point) of a camera by imaging a pattern of known geometry. Usually, the patterns used in calibration algorithms are complex to build (three orthogonal planes) or need a lot of features (checkerboard-like pattern). We propose using just two concentric circles ...
متن کاملCamera Calibration with Two Arbitrary Coaxial Circles
We present an approach for camera calibration from the image of at least two circles arranged in a coaxial way. Such a geometric configuration arises in static scenes of objects with rotational symmetry or in scenes including generic objects undergoing rotational motion around a fixed axis. The approach is based on the automatic localization of a surface of revolution (SOR) in the image, and it...
متن کاملTwo Messages are Almost Optimal
X and Y are random variables. Person P , knows X, Person P , knows Y and both know the joint probability distribution of (X,Y). Using a predetermined protocol, they communicate over a binary, error-free, channel in order for P , to learn X. P , may or may not learn Y. How many information bits must be transmitted (by both persons) in the worst case if only m messages are allowed? C?,(X(Y) is th...
